Microsoft is expected to announce its Windows 8 operating system on the 25th October and along with the PC version will come the Windows RT version for tablets, which Microsoft is putting a great deal of faith in.

And Asus looks set to launch three new Windows tablets, called the Asus Taichi, Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT.

With an official launch date for Windows 8 now looking firmly locked in place we can expect to see a host of tablets appearing, both officially and leaked as in the case of the Asus Taichi, Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT.

The three tablets vary in size and features, with the Vivo Tab RT being the smallest of the three with a 10.1-inch IPS+ display. With a starting price of $599 there is an optional dock costing $199 and along with the Windows OS you’ll also find it comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office 2013.

The Vivo Tab comes with a slightly larger 11.6-inch IPS+ display and will cost $799, with the dock costing a further $199 but it other respects looks to be the same machine.

The high-end model is the Asus Taichi, which is claimed in the leaked document will cost $1299 and come with dual Full HD 11.6-inch screens. Asus states that it’s an innovative device, combining notebook and tablet and even features Bang & Olufsen IcePower audio technology inside.

We’ll have to wait and see if the pricing is just provisional and how it translates into UK Pounds when the Asus Taichi, Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT are officially announced.

The current thought is that the prices will drop as it seems Asus is pricing these tablets on the high side, especially when you consider the price of the amazing Google Nexus 7 tablet that is made by Asus on behalf of Google.
