Microsoft looks set to launch versions of Office 2013 for both iOS and Android smartphones, amongst other smartphone versions, with an expected arrival date of March 2013.
Speaking at a press event in the Czech Republic, Microsoft product manager Petr Bobek confirmed to journalists that Microsoft would offer versions of Office 2013 for both iOS and Android, which would ship in March 2013.
Office for iPad has been rumoured to be in the works for some time and this snippet of information pretty much confirms what most people have been hoping for.
Along with iOS and Android versions, its believed there will be new Office 2013 versions for Windows Phone, Windows RT and even Symbian OS.
Microsoft has been quick to refute the claim from one of its own, getting in touch with The Verge to inform them ‘The information shared by our Czech subsidiary is not accurate. We do not have anything further to share at this time.’
Is this a case of trying to bolt the door after the horse has fled? Only time will tell but we’re only a few short months away from that March 2013 timeline, so we’ll know one way or the other soon enough.
