The Motorola RAZR i has officially been announced and, as expected, brings with it a 2GHz Intel Atom processor. What’s more, we can expect this Android 4.0 smartphone to launch in the next few weeks.
Looking very much like the recently US launched Motorola RAZR M, except with an Intel processor inside, the Motorola RAZR i delivers a Kevlar back and splash-proof coating that should give it a fair degree of durability in all weathers.
Shipping with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich) Motorola has claimed that the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is already in the works, so anyone buying the Motorola RAZR i won’t have to wait too long to have the latest version of the OS.
The 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display delivers a 540 x 960-pixel display and almost stretches the full width of the handset. That’s pretty impressive in a handset that measures just 122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3mm.
The camera is fairly standard at 8-Megapixels but is nicely capable of shooting a 10-photo burst in just a second, so is ideal for those who like to take plenty of action shots on the go.
Other features include support for NFC (Near Field Communication), MicroSD storage expansion and a powerful 2000mAh battery, which should deliver up to 20 hours of use in standard mode.
While no pricing on the Motorola RAZR i has been released yet, it’s expected that it will launch next month with Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin Media, Phones 4u and Tesco all having commented that they will be carrying the device.
