Two new HTC phones announced, hitting Taiwan

HTC has two new phones for us today, though both are aimed squarely at its home turf of Taiwan.

The first of the two new HTC phones is the Desire 501. This is a mid-range smartphone, armed with a 4.3-inch screen, 1.15 GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.1, sporting the company’s Sense UI. The camera is at 8-megapxiels.

Sicking with the Desire range we have the Desire 700 dual sim. We’ll let you guess it’s main feature, but there’s also a 5-inch 960 x 540 display with a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 to boot. Android 4.1.2 is in use here, as is another 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front one.

Nothing to write home about then, especially seeing as we won’t see them over here, but the more handsets the merrier.
