Mirror Mobile app review

Regardless of your opinion on The Mirror and its lowest common denominator approach to news reporting, it deserves a lot of credit for getting an app onto Ovi Store. It’s one area where it puts tabloid and broadsheet rivals to shame.

The praise stops as soon as you get into the app, though. It’s incredibly ugly, resembling the kind of stripped-out mobile Internet pages we used to view before the explosion of large screen touch-enabled devices. While its presence is commendable, then, Mirror Mobile smacks of an opportunistic rush to fill an Ovi-shaped niche.

Opera Mobile 10.1 app review
Opera 10.1 is officially out of beta, and it’s pretty much essential for all Symbian^3 and S60 users. Why? Because, to put it bluntly, it knocks Nokia’s default browser into a cocked hat. That’s no disgrace though, as Opera has been up there with the very best mobile browsers for some time.

Jamie’s Recipes app review
There’s already one Jamie Oliver app available for iPhone – Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals – and it’s been very popular. Its follow-up is free, but uses in-app payments to sell you bundles of recipes according to theme. Classic Comfort Food, Tasty Tray-Bakes and the like.
