Microsoft announces Lumia 650

After the release of the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, Microsoft announces a new budget device.

At the price of £150-£160 the Lumia 950 looks like an attempt at the budget market, but it’s intentions are for businesses. Microsoft stated how they wish to continue building a more effective smartphone portfolio and the Lumia 650 is just that. Businesses tend to give Apple’s iPhone 5s as business phone, Microsoft notices this and are offering a phone that’s half the price and runs Windows 10 for those all important Excel spreadsheets.

The Lumia 950 will be “the smart choice for your business” with a 5-inch HD OLED display and diamond cut aluminium display. It’s incredibly light and is of course a low-range phone. That fact is pretty much confirmed with the Snapdragon 212 in tow, if you were expecting Continuum from the rumours, disregard it sadly. Microsoft did this to of course keep the 650 a budget device.

The Lumia 650 will be available February 18th at an estimated retail price of £150-£160. The Lumia 650 is expected to be the last Lumia release this year with Microsoft refocusing the smartphone division. Will we see that much wanted “Surface Phone” this year?
